Pie vs Cake
Punk rock meets vintage circus. A neighborhood bakery with a bold, unmistakable identity.

A punk rock, vintage circus was the vision for this locally owned bakery in Astoria, Queens. I designed the small interior with that concept in mind, then used it as inspiration to create an entire brand around the space. The project brought together my multidisciplinary design skills to achieve a cohesive and impactful experience.
From interior to storefront
Red and blue stripes carry the circus concept across the walls and ceiling, framing the pastry display as the centerpiece of the small interior. The storefront rendering extends that same visual language outside, with a tent-like awning and the Pie vs Cake identity above the entrance.

Finish selections
Custom red and blue wallpaper creates a theatrical backdrop, balanced by dark wood and platinum black quartzite. Existing black-and-white tile flooring adds a graphic rhythm, while industrial-style lighting complements the punk rock character of the bakery.

Beyond the space
The identity carries beyond the interior into branded merchandise. Graphic apparel and illustrated accessories translate the bakery’s punk rock, vintage circus character into a cohesive collection.
